Lordy, Lordy, lordy

Has it poured today…

I hope my blogging buddies in and around Nashville are staying safe. I think we are in for another rainy day tomorrow. My back door neighbors yard is a pond. Luckily, I live on a hill…they live in the ‘valley’.
Thanks to all of you that read my little tangent yesterday….It felt really good to get it out. And if you read it and didn’t comment thanks to you as well…
Aimee my daughter informed me when she arrived home from school that she is going to be graduating speech by the end of the year. This is a big deal for her and she is really nervous, yet excited by it. She had a bad speech problem…not as severe as Zachary’s but close. When she was in kindergarten her Kindergarten teacher was literally in TEARS because she couldn’t understand Aimee. And she SO badly wanted too….Now, all I noticed is a VERY slight lisp when Aimee speaks. She speaks so plainly now. You would never even know that she had/has a speech problem.
Sometimes, I think she is very conscious of her speech…hence why she is so shy…it takes her a good 9 weeks to warm up to the kids in her class. And actually NOT be shy of contributing to the learning of the class. I am amazed that she has done SO well in school actually…
Daniel is all fired up about Graduating from 5th grade. Zachary is just Zach…I can tell he is learning A LOT. And his speech is greatly improving…still has a long way to go…I can sure tell a difference from when he first started speech at the beginning of the year.
And I SO meant participate in Thursday Thirteen today, but things just starting happening today one right after the other and I didn’t get a chance to get it together. Next Week, I will be better prepared.
I hope you all stayed dry today. Have a wonderful Evening.

A Lazy Rainy Day….

Hey guys!
Today is a lazy rainy day. I don’t know why I get like this when it rains. I just want to relax, not do anything…..but then reality sets in. And I realize, I have to make dinner tonight, laundry. Basically all life’s little ‘must do’s’.
I enjoy watching the rain. I will open up all of my blinds in my house just so I can see outside. I mean, I like to have my blinds open anyway….but with it raining it just makes it all the more–better!
I did receive my Sandra Lee Desserts Cookbook today. I didn’t realize how much of a crafty person Sandra Lee is. You can sort of tell it by her cooking show, but WOW! When I opened this cookbook it had crafting how to’s, decorating hints….the whole nine yards. I loved the look of the recipes. Can’t wait to try some of them out. Now all I am waiting on is my Paula Deen Calendar and My Collections of 200 recipes from Sandra Lees in a red recipe box. That will go perfect in my Tuscan themed kitchen. I am really waiting on pins and needles to get them.
Tomorrow, I should be receiving my foyer/hall table. I can’t wait to get it set up. It is going to make the room that I want to set it in—well, just pop right out. I also ordered a tower that matches it but it will be a week or so before that arrives.
Can you believe that it is almost February? Daniel will be turning 11 years old. I have no clue what we are going to get him besides some new Tech Deck’s. He has mentioned wanting a fishing pole so he can go and fish at the creek with our neighbors boys. He will probably be getting that and some lures. However, I don’t know what else..Guess we still have a few weeks to figure that out.
Eric is back at class and is busier than ever. Between work and going to school, we might see him 2 hours out of each day. IF that! I am used to it though. Being a military wife makes your skin tough—-so to speak. I do love it when he is home.
I did buy three of the CUTEST tea light candle holders from Kohl’s. Got all three of them for $12. they were regularly $19.99 a piece! Before packing them away, I will post a picture of them. They really are just too cute. And I also got .99 cent shipping for each of them. I didn’t however, like they way Kohl’s packaged them.
And the last thing of the day. Zachary has his first loose tooth. He is such an excited little boy right now. We were beginning to think that he was never going to loose a tooth. He just noticed it when he got home from school. And it is so loose that I wouldn’t be surprised if he loses it tomorrow at school, maybe even tonight. Then my daughter, goes and tells him that there is no such thing as a tooth fairy and Zach just started bawling. I corrected her….she is sort of upset that Daniel lost a tooth about a week ago and now Zachary is loosing a tooth. And for right now she isn’t loosing any. I guess she feels left out.
I hope you all have/had a super Tuesday.
Time for me to get to my cleaning and dinner makin’.

It’s Gettin’ Cold Outside!!!!!

Whew, it is FREEEEEZING!!!!!!
We are at 32 degrees right now and tomorrow our high is 50 degrees, low 30!!!!
My gosh, I think we totally bypassed Fall weather and went RIGHT into Winter Weather.
I told Eric that the kids are wearing their heavy coats tomorrow to school.
I had a pretty busy day today. I did more laundry. I don’t think I will EVER get caught up to where I only have one load of laundry a day, and then a few on Saturday like I used to.
Today, I got one of David’s games for his Leapster in. He is getting the Car’s Game and Go Diego Go Game.
Tonight, just to make sure Aimee really wants a Desk for Christmas. Eric and I asked her if that is what she really wanted. Again, the only toy she wants is the Wedding Barbie.
From Santa, she wants a Desk, School supplies for her desk, and a pink desk lamp. We do have a strick budget this year for Christmas but we are going to try to stay within the budget and actually get her these things.
When November hits, I really get the urge to cook and bake. And that urge is coming on.
I and that urge doesn’t leave until about April.
Zachary’s birthday is coming up and it is so close to Christmas that I really don’t know what to get him for his birthday. I want to get him a few things. But nothing really big. But I still want him to enjoy his birthday…..hmmmm. I can’t believe that he will be 7 years old. Zachary gets sick VERY easily. So with it being Winter and his severe eczema we have to keep on top of things.
We bought the movies Transformers today….and we have already given it to Daniel. We should have waited and given it to him for Christmas.
Oh, did anyone watch Dancing with The Stars….I feel like Helio will be gone within 2 times….I really hope this isn’t the case. He is my favorite this season. And going into it I thought my favorite would have been Jennie.
Okay, now I am off…
I hope you all had a wonderful Tuesday.

Tried a New Recipe…

And it was DEEEELIIISHH!!!!
It was for a Chicken Cordon Bleu Wrap Hot Sandwich.
Daniel, my 10 year old. He even liked it.
And it was SO very easy to make from start to finish it only took about 20 minutes.
When I make it next. It will be about 3 or 4 days before I make it again.
I will take a picture of the end product and post it on my recipe blog.
I tell ya, it was just awesome. And you know it is really good when I please all 4 of my kiddo’s with one meal. And then when my daughter asks if she can take it to school for lunch….
It would be SO good for pot lucks. And it would be good for any time of the year.
I got this recipe from a friend in Hawaii. So Thank you, Beth!

On a different note. It has gotten pretty chilly here during the early morning and up until around 2. Then it seems to be slightly ‘warm’ but then when 5 pm hits, it is chilly again.

Tomorrow, Eric will find out more about the van. It’s total condition. Color, miles….etc!
I can’t wait to get a ‘family’ van where we can all actually go places together.

I have almost got Aimee’s Christmas shopping done. I am well on my way with David. I need to start picking up the pace with Zachary and Daniel. I just really don’t ever know what to buy boys and each year my older boys get harder to buy for.

I do know that I am going to try and get all of them a bean bag chair for the play room so they each have something to sit in and relax or what movies. Aime will get a pink one, Daniel a red one and Zachary and David will both get blue but different shades. That is if I can find them now. I knew I should have at least picked up Aimee’s bean bag chair a month or so ago when I saw them at walmart. I just didn’t have anywhere to hide them.

I am also going to get each of them a set of Themed flannel sheets for the beds. One they need sheets and two they like getting theme sheets. Just hoping I can find the right themes for each of them before Christmas. Think I might try eBay for them.

I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday. I am hoping tomorrow, I can go and respond to some of my favorite bloggers….

Rain, Rain and More Rain….

Have you been getting much rain? We sure have. We had a steady stream of rain all day today.
And we are expecting it to be raining tomorrow and Thursday as well.
And it is suppose to get a tad bit chillier the next couple of days.
This weekend I am going to be making suckers for Aimee’s Halloween Festival party at school. She asked if I would make them for her and they are so easy to make. Just time consuming. I think I will make her class about 40 suckers that way I am sure to get every child and the teachers.
I have been doing my usual cleaning. Sometimes, I feel like that is all I do is cleaning and Laundry.
We did find out the Make and Model of the van that we might be buying and it is a Ford Windstar. We just don’t know year (Eric thinks the year to be a 97,98, or 99), mileage, engine condition, interior and exterior condition. All we know is the Owner’s brother (whom goes to our church and is car dealership manager) says it is in good condition and good working order. We will find out Sunday all the details and make our decision on it…With the price they are wanting for it doing a Kelley Blue Book search of it I think it stands the chance of being a ’98. But we shall see…..One thing I hope is that it is not white or red. Or a ugly color of blue.
David will be finished with all his antibiotics tomorrow. I am praying that this takes care of all his boils and they do not come back. I guess we will see in about two weeks. By his condition we believe that David probably has/had MRSA. Although, it hasn’t been diagnosed as that yet, hoping it will not get to that point if his boils doesn’t come back. But he had just about all the symptoms of it. Quite scary actually.

For those who pray, please keep David in your thoughts and prayers that this last round of Meds have nocked out his infection. MRSA is a scary thing!

I hope you all had a wonderful day and evening.

BRRRRRRRR It’s Cold and Rainy!!!

The weather her certainly has taken a turn.
Saturday it was warm and sunny….
And yesterday it was a pretty nice day.
Then all of the sudden my kids are off to school, and it gets Dark, Cold and Rainy!
I do not mind the rain. I also don’t mind the cooler temps….
I just somehow feel that it is NOW time to put up the shorts and Capri’s and bring out the jeans.
I am SO glad that I told Zachary to wear jeans today because they are going to the Apple Orchard and Pumpkin farm. But he didn’t take a jacket. None, of my kids took a jacket to school today….Need to get them out and in viewing of there closets so they can grab them in the mornings.
This morning I had an idea for a gift for Aimee when she turns 18. Yes, I know. I am thinking WAY ahead, but I think I need to start this now…
I am thinking for her 18th birthday or that following Christmas to give her a collection of Our Families Favorite recipes. Also would be pictures of the finished product when they had it when they were smaller. So I think I am going to start looking for a binder for it. Maybe do it scrapbooking style.
I should know more details about the van we will be getting on Sunday…so hopefully, I will be able to post an update to that on Sunday.
Eric has decided that the kids can go trick or treating this year. Aimee is going as a doctor. Zachary an Army man, David a Cowboy (but he will probably just stay home and help me pass out candy, and Daniel is going as a XBOX. We are making his costume. And he is thrilled about it.
I also recieved another award, for which I will get that up and posted in a couple of days. Thanks to Jennifer for the award.
I need to get a three year old to bed for his nap. I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

Time Got away from me Today….

A quick entry for today.
Time just really got away from me today. When David laid down for his nap. I fell asleep with him. And I must of needed it.
It was a beautiful day here and Daniel and Aimee played outside most of the day.
You know when I was growing up, I either played in my room or I was outside on the trampoline, riding my bike or playing Basketball.
With all the technology these days it seems that kids spend all there time in front of a computer, television, or some electronic device. I was so glad that my kids spent about 95% of the day outside playing and running around with there friends. I think social interaction is so important. Just like going to school is important, so is social interaction. It is how they learn to communicate in groups.
It looks like Eric is going to have to work on one of the busiest days of the year! Black Friday! He is dreading it.
The kids report cards were all outstanding. I was really surprised. Daniel even had 2 A’s. Which is really good and surprising.
Eric is not feeling well. But he is hanging in there. The past two nights we have spent more time together than we have in a long time. Tonight, we watched a made for television movie and last night we watched a movie on Pay Per View.
And we actually talked and not about the kids…..AMAZING!
I hope you all had a Saturday.
I sure did!

Monday Madness #5

1. Where you live, what kind of weather (or weather-related tragedy) do you fear the most? hhmmmm probably a tornado. But I am used to them since I grew up in Tornado Alley (Oklahoma)
2. What kind of weather do you MOST enjoy? A Spring morning with all the dew and mist or a Rainy Day. Or a slightly cool day, where it is just right.
3. What kind of weather do you LEAST like to drive in? ICE AND RAIN!
4. What is the scariest weather-related experience you’ve had in your lifetime? That would be when I lived in Miami, Florida. I was 7 months pregnant with Zachary. It was just me and Aimee. Eric had taken Daniel for a trip to his grandfathers house to pick up a car. And wouldn’t you know it we had a tropical storm. Luckly, AImee and I ran to the grocery store to pick up food for 5 days. And luckly, we lived on the 3rd floor. Eric and Daniel Left October 1st in the early morning and by noon it was already starting to flood. THANKGOODNESS, I didn’t go into pre-term labor.
5. Share a “weather picture” with us. This was taken at the house that I grew up in. Located in Eakly, Oklahoma. My dad still lives in this huge house all by himself. It is 4,000 square feet!
