Now If this just isn’t annoying!!

Hey guys!
I have something that is annoying me to high heaven! I walked into Aimee’s room earlier and immediately knew that I had stepped on something. Sure enough, it looks like I stepped on a sliver of glass. However, I can’t get it out and it is annoying me! It hurts to take the tweezers to it….but I know it will feel a lot better once that little sliver is out. It is just the getting to it without pushing more into my skin. I really want to work out right now and if I hit it just right, boy do I know it is in there because it causes a twinge of pain.
I have NO idea why on earth there would be a sliver of glass in Aimee’s carpet???? That has me all confused.
Anyway, Guess what I got in the mail today….I will give you three guess and the first two don’t count!……

*I got my Paula Deen 2008 Calendar and my Sandra Lee’s Collection of 200 recipes today. And that isn’t it…..I also received my Foyer/hall table. And I love it!
The Calendar is Awesome. Some of her ‘yearly planning is in it. When she decorates for Christmas, Orders seeds for gardening,……along with recipes and family stories. It is AWESOME!!!!! I just briefly went through my Sandra Lee recipe boxed collection. And oh my gosh, does she have some yummy things to make. And all the recipes seem pretty simple—well the ones that I looked at anyways.
I will post pictures tomorrow of my new Christmas tea lights and my new table.
Zachary lost his first tooth at school today. Although, he will not be snaggled tooth for long. I already see his permanent tooth coming in.
In our house for the first tooth lost you get a new book from the tooth fairy and $5.00. It was a tradition started I believe by my brother in law and his kids if I am not mistaken. Eric and I liked it so much that we started it with Daniel and every first tooth lost that each child had. Only have one more child left to go…… :(
Kids grow up WAY to fast!
Anyway, I can feel that sliver of glass in my foot, I am going to go and try one more time to get that thing out…..it doesn’t hurt it is just REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING…..(Not yelling, just annoyed)

A AWESOME SITE!

Hey Guys!
I hope your Saturday has gone swimmingly.
As most of you know that read this blog (Or you SHOULD at least…LOL) that I love to cook and bake. And if you looked at my previous post you will know that I just purchased some cookbooks.
I have received two of my Paula Deen Cookbooks. And everything in them both look just delish (my husband often wonders why I say Delish). I can’t wait to get my Paula Deen Calendar, which also has recipes in it and the other cookbooks that I ordered. Paula Deen is such a hoot. Love her!
So with that I got to looking for a place where I can put all my favorite recipes and make my own Cookbook. I FOUND IT! You can make your own cookbook for yourself or as a gift for someone at Taste Book. You can choose your own Title for your cookbook. It has dividers, You can choose from several different styles/pictures. You can include your own recipes (which is what I am doing) or you can choose from there recipes. You can get the cookbook and 100 recipes in the cookbook that is your own for $34.95. It might be a little expensive (which it is for me right now). However, I am going to take my time adding my recipes to it and I figure by Late October/First of November. It will be ready for me to order one for myself and for my sister as a Christmas gift.

I am also getting some crafting supplies together to do a craft project. I will post about it when I am doing it and if it turns out (which it should) I will post a ‘How Too’ on it. :)
It is a craft using Empty loose powder jars.

I still need to add recipes to my recipe blog. Hopefully, I will be able to start on that next week.

It has been very cold here the last few days with the highs only hitting 34 today. And the previous days it hasn’t gotten over 25 degrees. Our lows have been in the teens. BBBBBRRRR!

I have a tired little 3 year old wanting to go to bed so I will end this. (he didn’t get his nap today and you can sure tell it).

I hope you all have a wonderful evening and I will try to post tomorrow….however, my computer hogging husband is off work and will be home all day…so I don’t know if that is going to happen…if not. I will post on Monday!

I just Feed my addiction–To Cookbooks!

Hey Ya’ll!
I just feed my addiction to cook books. I have not only ordered 1 cook book. But I ordered 4 cook books. A cookbook calendar (I will explain more about this in a jiff) And a recipe box filled with 200 recipes.

First, I will tell ya, I love Food Network. My favorite chefs/people of food network are Emeril, Paula Deen, Bobby Flay and Sandra Lee. I tolerate Rachael Ray. She can really get on my nerves sometimes.
Anyway, this is what I bought.

I bought 2 cook books from Paula Deen. Paula Deen Celebrates. And The Lady & Sons Just Desserts! Can’t wait to try these out!

Also from Paula Deen I bought a Calendar. I usually have my new Calendar before the 1st of the year. This year that didn’t happen and when I found this I knew I had to get my hands on it.
Photobucket
Then I ordered a Sandra Lee Cookbook. It is Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Celebration. (hmmm, I just realized that it looks like I am in the mood for sweets???) And I also bought Sandra Lees Collection of 200 recipes in a recipe box.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
And finally, I bought a Rachael Ray Cookbook titles 2, 4,6,8, Great Meals for Couples or Crowds
Photobucket
I can’t wait to get them all and try out some of their recipes. I did order a newer copy of Better Homes and Gardens NEW cookbook. I found it for $3.25 so I am happy with that. I bought it for $15.95 in 1996/97. And I didn’t spend a whole lot on these cookbooks combine. Since we are on a budget, I am pleased that it didn’t break the bank, if it would have I wouldn’t have purchased them.
DeeJay you commented to my previous post-The Bee Gee’s ARE AWESOME! My dad gave me my love for the Bee Gee’s. I think that is the only thing I get from him. I don’t think you are weird at all! Strange Maybe???? LOL just kidding.
I also want to mention: *I am in NO way afflilated with the above cooks/chefs or there products. I just simply love sharing what I get.
Our day is winding down here and I have got just a few things accomplished. The kids were really well behaved today. I hope you are having/had a wonderful Monday!

A Game~Christmas recipes from A-Z!

Hey Guys!!!!
I thought this would be fun thing to do with the holidays fast approaching….
Here is how it works…
Post me a comment leaving recipes from A-Z.
When we have all letters of the alphabet accounted for…I will do another post on the recipe and add them to my recipe blog for everyone to enjoy….
I will start it off first with A….I have made it where the comments will post immediately so everyone knows what letter we are on…
Maybe this will give some other person a neat recipe to try….
I know I am in need of recipes..
I hope you all had a terrific Sunday!

Tried a New Recipe…

And it was DEEEELIIISHH!!!!
It was for a Chicken Cordon Bleu Wrap Hot Sandwich.
Daniel, my 10 year old. He even liked it.
And it was SO very easy to make from start to finish it only took about 20 minutes.
When I make it next. It will be about 3 or 4 days before I make it again.
I will take a picture of the end product and post it on my recipe blog.
I tell ya, it was just awesome. And you know it is really good when I please all 4 of my kiddo’s with one meal. And then when my daughter asks if she can take it to school for lunch….
It would be SO good for pot lucks. And it would be good for any time of the year.
I got this recipe from a friend in Hawaii. So Thank you, Beth!

On a different note. It has gotten pretty chilly here during the early morning and up until around 2. Then it seems to be slightly ‘warm’ but then when 5 pm hits, it is chilly again.

Tomorrow, Eric will find out more about the van. It’s total condition. Color, miles….etc!
I can’t wait to get a ‘family’ van where we can all actually go places together.

I have almost got Aimee’s Christmas shopping done. I am well on my way with David. I need to start picking up the pace with Zachary and Daniel. I just really don’t ever know what to buy boys and each year my older boys get harder to buy for.

I do know that I am going to try and get all of them a bean bag chair for the play room so they each have something to sit in and relax or what movies. Aime will get a pink one, Daniel a red one and Zachary and David will both get blue but different shades. That is if I can find them now. I knew I should have at least picked up Aimee’s bean bag chair a month or so ago when I saw them at walmart. I just didn’t have anywhere to hide them.

I am also going to get each of them a set of Themed flannel sheets for the beds. One they need sheets and two they like getting theme sheets. Just hoping I can find the right themes for each of them before Christmas. Think I might try eBay for them.

I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday. I am hoping tomorrow, I can go and respond to some of my favorite bloggers….

TTFN!

MONKEY BREAD-Every had any!

Ever eaten or even seen Monkey Bread????
I hadn’t until my mother mentioned to me that her grandchildren would love it.
And they do love it. If you know anyone that likes cinnamon rolls they will LOVE monkey Bread.
It is great for breakfast, after school snack, pot lucks, family get togethers, church functions.
I never have ANY left.
So I thought I would share my Monkey Bread recipe with you (those of you that read this)
Monkey Bread
*Bunt Pan
*Pam
*3 (12 ounce)packages refrigerated Biscuits (use the SMALL cheap Pillsbury Biscuits)
*1 Cup Sugar
*2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
*1/2 cup margarine or 1 stick of butter
*1 cup packed brown sugar
*1/2 cup chopped walnuts (this is optional, my kids do not like nuts so I do not use nuts in mine)
*1/2 raisins (again optional-I don’t use raisins in mine)

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray bunt pan with Pam.
  2. Mix white sugar and cinnamon .
  3. Cut Biscuits into quarters. (I use a pizza cutter for this and it goes fast) and coat with Sugar mixer.Continue until all biscuits are coated and placed in the pan. If using nuts and raisins, arrange them in and among the biscuit pieces as you go.
  4. Melt margarine and brown sugar over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Pour over the biscuits.
  5. Place bunt pan on a cookie sheet to help with clean up.
  6. Bake at 350 for 25 to 28 minutes.
  7. Let cool for 3 minutes then turn over onto plate or dish.—This could get messy.

DO NOT CUT!—THE BREAD JUST FALLS APART!

**Remember to use the CHEAP biscuits, it will not work with the bigger more expensive biscuits. My daughter is going to make this next year for 4H. She is so excited! If you make this let me know how you liked it.d\
