I have had a very busy week.  David had a dental appointment yesterday.  Which was NOT fun.  He was in the denist chair for 2 hours!  Poor baby.  Thankgoodness for dental insurance.  The total bill was over $1,200!!!  Like I said, Thankgoodness for Insurance!

Zachary also had an appointment yesterday.  His meds are filled through the summer.  So if he doesn’t get sick, he will not have to go back to the doctor until right before school starts.  They did up his dose some….which he needed.

Zachary brought me home Mother’s day flowers today from school! This is just the BEST mother’s day gift.  Even though, I know all the kids got to take one to there mom’s.  I do know that he got to pick out the color and he picked Orange/red color. Awww, I just love this kid.  He is so sweet and caring.

Eric has until Monday off!  I am hoping to start deep cleaning my house tonight.

Baloo (the cat) is starting to feel better.  He has lost a little weight but is keeping down food.  I only feed him a small amount every hour.

Now, onto my savings….my savings from coupons are $461.43!!!!  That is since March 16th.

The Crest Freebies were made through Wal-mart they might still have them available.  The trash bag was made through Sam’s club and I believe has ended.

• Breathless Bethany Buttercup–I gave this to Aimee as well.  There is a really good chance that Zachary has asthma.  Asthma is what this book deals with.

• Keep Moving Free CD and Pedometer (this is from Tylenol) This one is another one of my favorites.

I don’t know if these are still active or not. I was disappointed in the Celine Dion fragrance sent sample.

Bargain Bin Friday #5

Note: Freebies are a hit or miss kind of deal.  If it is a Walmart freebie, you will get those.  And pretty quick as well.  Like I said, it is just hit or miss.  You really have nothing to lose.  And remember when you sign up for freebies to use a ‘junk’ email account so you aren’t bombarded with spam mail.

My savings to date (using coupons since March 16th) is:$165.82!  I am having a lot of fun searching for good deals.

I spend about 30 minutes to an hour Monday-Friday, No time on Saturday and Then Sunday I spend about an hour…maybe a little over an hour.  Aimee , David, and Zachary help me clip out my coupons.  When Eric sees coupons he picks them up for me.  It really has turned into a family ‘thing’.

Plus, it is teaching our kids how to spend wisely.

I have got the lawn to finish mowing, Grocery shopping to do, have to dismiss Aimee from class early…(thankfully, she will still get credit for being there a full day), and come home and start my weekend chores! Boy, I  lead an exciting life! LOL

Bargain Bin Friday #4

Here are some Money Saving Tips that I worked for us….

1. Turn your Thermostat down!  Our Electric bills were getting out of control last summer.  We decided to turn our thermostat up…and in the winter to turn it down.  We keep our Thermostat set at 65º during the winter.  During the Summer it is at 79º.  It may seem like a we would either be freezing in the winter and hot in the summer but we are not.  I live in a 3,000 square foot house.  Our electric bill last month was $190!  My neighbors, who lives in a 3007 square foot house was $500!!!  Both our heat and Air conditioner are turned off and the Air conditioner will NOT be turned on until June 1st.  We will open windows and use fans.  Hoping to save more money.
2. Wrap your celery or Lettuce in aluminum foil, it last for a long time. Just a note: Do not wash first.
3. Hand wash your dishes.  Using a dishwasher costs money.
4. Hang clothes to dry.  I hang dry about 40% of our clothing
5. Unplug appliances when not in use…this goes for lamps, dvd players, coffee pots…etc.  Even when they are plugged in and not in use it is using electricity.
6. If you use dryer sheets.  Cut them in half.  It works just as well as using a full dryer sheet.  Yet, you are getting double for your money.

I went too Kmart on Wednesday to see if they had some cereal left that was on sale (which I also had coupons for).  However, they were all sold out.

I usually don’t go into our Kmart because it is filthy, nasty looking.  However, I did this time for the sale.  After finding out it was sold out.  I took a quick glance at the kids clothes.  And notice they were having a $1.99 sale.  I went through the boys sizes first (because they need clothes worse than Aimee does).  I found NOTHING for them.

I then went to the girl section…JACKPOT!  Aimee asked for some new sweatshirts for next year.   I found one left.  And in her favorite color of Pink for $1.99.  Then I spotted a slew of HSM (High School Musical) shirts.   I found one kinda ‘vintage’/ ‘retro’ looking shirt that I knew she would love for $1.99.  They had more there but I had to get out of there…the store is just really dirty in my opinion.

She loves them both.  Yes, the sweatshirt is a big size….but she likes to be able to move in sweatshirts and likes them bigger.  My daughter also has long arms and the sweatshirt has longer sleeves then most do.

And here she is wearing her New HSM shirt.  She loves it.  She couldn’t wait to wear it.

And I think it is time to get her a new bike…she seems to be outgrowing this one….

Free Things in Life….

Hey Guys!
Since my last post I have been thinking about Life’s Free things—-Things some of us just might take for granted…..
It made me feel so much better…so I thought I would post some of my FAVORITE ‘Free’ thing in Life!

1. The sound and smell of rain–I just love watching the rain and hearing it….a nice steady flow is SO very peaceful and relaxing for me…
2. My children’s laughter and smiles—that puts an incredibly big smile on my face…
3. The smell of freshly laundered sheets and towels.
4. Watching my David take his nap–so sweet, it makes me realize how special he and the rest of my children are.
5. Hugs! Hugs are just special!
6. The smells of a clean house.
7. Candles that are burning…
8. baking–I almost didn’t put this. However, baking relaxes me (weird I know) and it is free–you just have to have the effort.
9. Close neighbors-I absolutely adore my next door neighbor!
10. Singing–doesn’t matter how well you can sing…it’s free and if it makes you happy then go for it—I have been singing a lot the last 2 days.
11. Our cat-love watching him play when he gets all wound up! He is hilarious!
12. And finally, the love that I have for my husband and children and vise versa…
Oh, Wait! Forgot one! Thunderstorms! I just love a good Thunderstorm!
