Happy 12th Birthday Daniel-Jacob!

Today, is my oldest son’s birthday!  He is 12 years old!  WOW, does time fly! We celebrated his birthday on Saturday. His favorite gift was a Red Ipod Shuffle with his name and birthday engraved on it. I believe he already has 147 songs on it. It holds 1,000 songs.

They are allowed to take ipods to school. Daniel was excited about getting to listen to his favorite music on the way to school. All of it is Contemperary Christian Music. With the exception of ONE song. He really wanted “Sweet Home Alabama” on it. So we loaded that up for him as well.

Twelve years just FLYS by!
He went from this…

In what seemed to be just a blink of my eyes!  He is such a thoughtful and caring kid!  I couldn’t be happier that he is my son!  Happy Birthday Daniel-Jacob!

On a side note—I had to take David  to the Doctor today.  He is sick and has a rash on his face.  It is just on his face.  It is either a Rash from his body trying to fight off an infection.  Or it is the Chickenpox.  He is on antibiotic creme and if it isn’t better by Friday.  He is to be seen again….and then they will start treatment for Chickenpox.  I am praying this creme works.

I hope you all have a fabulous week!

Take Care!

$24.50!!!!

Hey guys!
Today, the snow is REALLY melting…..My kids had a wonderful time playing out in it ALL day.
Or Daniel and Aimee did.
I did get pictures of Zachary and David playing in the snow….and I will try to post some tomorrow.
Yesterday, Daniel and his buddies where outside sledding and playing. When all the sudden Daniel comes in and says that they are going to go and shovel off drive ways for some extra cash…
I told him that I didn’t think most people would let them or they would just do it themselves. But I said ‘Okay’. Several hours later, Daniel comes home with $24.50. His share of the money made. All the boys went home with $24.50. He was so proud of himself and so were Eric and I.
He has bought two things with his money. 1~A new Tech Deck, and 2. A Halo Figure. He still has more money left.
What was funny. Daniel and his buddies Hunter and Colton both all general like the same things.
Last night Hunter’s mom took him to wal-mart and target to spend his money and today, when Eric and Daniel were out at Target they saw Colton spending him money that he had made.
It is all a game to them. And watching those three talk is hilarious.
I told Daniel $24.50 is not bad for a days work for an 11 year old. We are going to frame one of his dollars…and hang it in his room, because that honestly is the first ‘REAL’ money he has ever made on his own.
Did we get our drive shoveled???? NOOOOOOO!!! But that is okay, Our daughter shoveled off ours and she is got $5.00 from us for it.
I love snow…but am always glad when it melts away….
Hopefully, spring weather is right around the corner….
I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday….
Now, I have to take the trash to the end of the drive way for pick up sometime in the middle of the night.
Have I mentioned how BUSY my Sundays are? I think Sundays are my busiest day of the week….and it really shouldn’t be…
Bye for now!

A Birthday coming up…

Hey guys!
We have a birthday boy come Saturday in our house.
Daniel will be turning 11 years old.
It just doesn’t seem like he ought to be 11 already.
He has turned into such a AWESOME kid!
He was my ‘miracle’ baby.

There is a reason he is my ‘miracle’ baby. Feb. 19th marked 12 years since I lost my angel baby. I didn’t blog about it because….well, I just didn’t feel up to it. I still remember it and it still gets me choked up. Eric doesn’t quite understand ‘Why’ I feel the need to remember it. In All honesty….I DO think he remembers too…just doesn’t like to share.

I became pregnant 3 months after losing my ‘angel’.

It kind of saddens me that he/she had to loose there life in order for there brother to be brought into this world.
But then on the other hand….I am SO very blessed that we were given Daniel. He is such a special boy to me.
My pregnancy with Daniel was very EASY in the beginning but by the 7th month, problems arose and from those problems with each pregnancy thereafter, I was considered HIGH risk.
I like to think that my ‘angel’ is watching over us….and is with his/her great-grandpa and great-grandma….thinking that brings a peace and happiness to my heart.

On to the Birthday boy….
At Birth he weighed 7 pounds 7 and a half ounces and was 20 inches long.
His given name is Daniel-Jacob.
He was born with a small birthmark of a heart on his ankle.
And a head full of lite brown hair.
I will try to post a picture of him on his birthday.

He is huge into Tech Decks (Jennifer if you don’t know about these little things—you need to look into them for Justin). So he is getting some (3) tech deck ramps. A lava Lamp which is just cool beans, a red (his favorite color) alarm clock, Spiderman Shirt, His grandpa sent him some kind of tool *roll eyes*,And his favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite card game is Uno. Put those together and you have Dallas Cowboys Uno Set and we bought him that as well…

He also received $20.00 from my mom and $5.00 from his great-grandma.
He can’t wait to go and spend his money.
We are having a family party for him here at home on Saturday. Eric even took off of work. Which I wish he wouldn’t have but there is things around here that need his attention and that day is as good as any for him to take off.

I didn’t mean for this to get so long….Guess I had more to say than I had thought.

Oh, Evil Chef Mom has tagged me with a meme and within the next few days I will be posting that.

I hope you all had a Terrific Thursday!

Daniel’s Harsh Reality….

LOL, not really HARSH! But to him it was.
Daniel is in his last year of elementary school. Here (I know some elementary schools go up to the 6th grade) elementary is K-5th. Middle is 6th-8th and then of course high school is 9th through 12th.
Daniel’s best friend who lives across the street is one year older than he is. And is always talking about how he wants to play sports. However, at our school kids have to keep a A/B adverage in all classes to play. He tells Daniel this and Daniel doesn’t believe him.
Daniel comes in telling us and of course we know it is true. He is in such disbelief when we tell him not only does he have to maintain and A/B adverage in all class. He also has to try out for the sport that he wants to participate in. And that just because he tries out does not necessarily mean he will get a spot.
He knew about not getting a spot if you didn’t ‘make it’. But what is annoying him is that he has to keep his grades up. Daniel does make good grades. Right now, he has A’s, B’s and C’s. It is those C’s that is going to hender him making a team. And he knows this. But is aggrevated at it. It was kind of funny to watch his facial expressions when Eric and I both told him that yes he did have to make good grade to be on and stay on a sports team.
He is in for BIG changes next year. He will have to get up about 30 mintues earlier-around 5:45/ 6 AM. The bus for middle and high school students leaves at 7 am. He will have home room and then switch classes every 30 to 45 mintues. He will also have different teachers for each class. That he is excited about. He will have a locker. At the end of the year Seniors bring in the 5th graders locks so they can practice on them. In July we will have to go to a ‘early school briefing, at that briefing Daniel will be assigned a locker that he will get to pick out. His best friend got a lousy locker because his parents didn’t take him to the 6th grade Round up last summer and he was so bummed when he had to pick an undesirable locker in an undesirable location. So we are diffently taking Daniel. Big changes take Daniel a couple of weeks to get used to and anytime the school has something like this we always take the kids. I really believe it builds there confidence some.
The Kids did go to school today. But gosh was it cold this morning. I will have some hot chocolate fixed for them when they get home.
They had a blast yesterday. Aimee played outside in the snow for 4 hours straight and was upset that we made her come in to warm up. And unbelievably that wasn’t a lot of fighting.
Eric went to classes because the University didn’t post anything online about classes being canceled and the didn’t even phone the news stations and let them know. He found out around 11 that ALL classes had been canceled for the day. He was mift. And so was I. I didn’t really want him to go anyway…..and he didn’t want to either because of the cars tires. However, he made it there and back saftely and in one piece.
The David watched movies and played with daddy. The older boys did there own thing. Daniel did watch a movie or two with Eric. Zachary played on the XBOX most of the day.
All in All it was a good day. But, I was SO glad to see them go back to school.
Today, I have laundry and cleaning to do. I also need to start a grocery list.
I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday!

FOOSBALL!!!!!

FINALLY! We have figured out what to get Daniel for Christmas from Santa and it is RIGHT in the middle of the price range that I wanted to spend. However, if it is NOT at Walmart on Wednesday, I will have to order it……

We are getting Daniel a Foosball table. He has wanted one in the past…and we were going to get him one last year but they stores sold out of them FAST!! I was suprised it was still available online.

Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn’t sell out online and that maybe we might be able to find it in store.

I do have a lot of wrapping to do….

But I am almost finished! I am so excited…..I feel like my brain is fried on Christmas. I try to really get what a person wants for Christmas and I worry to a fault about if they will like it or not….I REALLY have to stop doing that…

Christmas is very fast approaching will you be out and about up until the last day shopping for last minute things?
I try to have everything done, wrapped and food purchased at least by Dec. 20th. So maybe I can enjoy Christmas for the 5 days prior and relax a little. Christmas gift buying has REALLY stressed me out this year.

I hope you all had a Marvelous Monday!

FRUSTRATED…..

I am beyond frustrated!
My day was going wonderful. I was getting so much accomplished.
Aimee and I had went to Kohl’s were she got to spend her gift card. She bought several cute print shirts and t-shirts. We ran into Wal-Mart to pick up a few things that I would need this next week.
Came home, I de-cluttered the dinning room and cleaned it up. It is spotless! Have a candle going in it and it actually looks like the formal dinning room it is suppose to look like.
Having 3 loads of laundry done and put away. Having dinner all planned out. The breakfast nook cleaned and looking nice. On my way to having my kitchen cleaned spotless. Then at 3 pm I go and tell my older 3 kids to get there papers ready that I need to sign for school the next day. Zachary comes first and everything is in order so I sign the appropriate forms and he placed his backpack by the front door. Aimee does the same. Then I go and get Daniels Backpack and it is HEAVY! He has 5 HUGE books in his backpack. Then I start going through them and all his paperwork. Come to find out, his teachers are missing not one, not two, not 3, but ELEVEN assignments from him.
As of right now, he has 5 more to go. He is so unorganized it is not even funny. So from now on….right when he and Aimee get home we are going to go through there assignment planners. They are going to tell me what they need to do and I am going to see if I see it the same way. And go from there.
And if they are not turned in by TOMORROW! They will all go down as big fat ZERO’S!
Last year, his desk was a pig sty. And I am sure it is like that right now. He just throws papers in it. I don’t know how we are going to nip this in the bud, but we are!
Daniel HAS to get more organized. And his teacher really needs to explain what is due and when more clearly.
Daniel is always fighting with me that he has NO homework. When indeed he does.
Daniel said one kid had 14 missing assignment.
I think a conference with his teacher is in order…..
hmmmm, now to try to get back to what I was doing, help him in the process, and get dinner on the table.
Have a great evening bloggers…
Hopefully my evening will start to go better………but maybe, NOT!
