No momma, No nap for me….

That was my 3 year old response to me telling him it was Nap time.

No, Momma~No nap for me. My kids were really good and still are great nap takers. However, I have noticed a bit of rebellion now, when I tell David it is his nap time. And today, he only napped for 45 minutes…when it is usually 2 to 3 hours. I was not a happy momma in the least bit. Tomorrow, if that happens he will be put back down to sleep for at least another hour.

I think he just thinks he is going to miss something. My mom says he is trying to ‘outgrow’ his naps. Which may be the case…but all my kids are still good nappers…even my 11 year old when he gets VERY tired…he will go and lay down for a nap.

All my kids stop taking there regular daytime naps when they start school but even then on the weekends the littlest student I have took naps on the weekends. Zachary, I can get to take a nap almost once a weekend for a few hours….which is great because he is a high energy kid.

David will still take naps on weekends during his first year of kindergarten. And on both days. I just feel that sleep is so necessary for a child.

I wasn’t as productive as I was yesterday. I did get to more headbands made which I think turned out absolutely adorable….

What do you think. Did they turn out CUTE??? I think the retro looking one is my favorite.

It was a gorgeous day here today. It was suppose to rain and it did some early this morning. But by 11 it was a gorgeous 73 degrees outside. I just love April/May weather. June and July are so humid that I really don’t enjoy those months. I really don’t like having to get out and mow our dreaded hilly lawn during those hot summer months as well.
The kids had a good day at school. Both Daniel and Aimee came home with NO homework…which that is a blessing. Sometimes getting Daniel to do is homework is like pulling teeth. Speaking of teeth, Daniel has another tooth loose. He hasn’t lost many of his teeth…but I am figuring that they will be falling out pretty quickly. Aimee, has only lost 6 teeth and she is 9. And Zachary just recently lost his first tooth. Of course David is a long ways off from loosing a tooth.

David has really gotten into putting puzzles together….just like his sister did at that age. And now my daughter still enjoys putting puzzles together. And my daughter puts together those 500 and 1,000 piece puzzles, by herself. She can spend hours putting together puzzles. And David has been doing that ALL day. But he is silly and is doing the same 50 count puzzle over and over again.

See, I told ya’ll. Just another random blog entry. I hope I didn’t just bore you to tears…And I hope you had a beautiful Monday. I think tomorrow will be less random and more on topic. There is something I have been meaning to blog about.

Until Then have a wonderful Night.

My only Living Grandmother…

I thought I would share some pictures of my only living Grandmother. She is now 78 years old. She is the only one that I would stay with when I was little besides my Aunt Ann. She is where I get my love of Cooking from. I used to sit on the counter and watch her cook. I look NOTHING like her, but I have her personality. She amazes me. She had 8 ( 7 boys and 1 girl (my mom))children and doesn’t have any “REAL” Health problems. PRAISE GOD!
She has a VERY VERY strong faith. Which she did before my grandfather passed away 8 years ago….it is even stronger now. She has been through so much in her life….and probably stuff I don’t even know about. She ALWAYS looks for the good in people, even if they hurt her (feelings of course). These pictures were taken when she visited me 2 years ago. She hadn’t seen us in 5 years…..
The pictures are clickable for better viewing.

My grandmother is on the far left. Her friend’s are Dixie (middle) and Mary (far right)

That full day Great-Nanny stayed with us. Danile and Aimee had school that day.

My boys

And a close up of David…

I hope I haven’t bored you all to tears with pictures of my kids and my grandmother. I speak to my grandmother at least once a week. For living grandparents I only have her and my grandfather from my dads side…..I never knew how much I loved and looked up to my grandpa Coats and Grandma King (both passed away) until there were gone.
Have a wonderful Day!

Happy Wednesday!

I can’t believe that it is the middle of the week already. This week seems to be going by fast.
This morning I turned on the Television for David to watch his cartoons.
And it so happened that Mr. Roger’s was on.
I can remember watching Mr. Roger’s and Sesame Street before AND after school.
Remember 3,2,1 Contact? I used to watch that a lot as well. How about Captain Kangaroo???I absolutely loved that show.
David DID watch Mr. Rogers, and it watched it the whole way through. So I just might have to try and catch him on again. Sesame Street David or any of my kids for some reason isn’t into. Except David does Love Elmo. But that is about it.

Today, The kid shows are:
The Backyardigans-WHICH I LOVE!
Blues Clues/Blues Room-Which is also a good.
Wonder Pets-Like this one
Little Einstein-Love this one
Dora The Explorer-Love this one
Go Diego Go-REALLY REALLY love this one.
Max and Ruby-This one is okay.

I loved to watch 3,2,1 Contact, Mr. Rogers, and Sesame Street…..
The above shows are wonderful….but I will always love my older shows….I wish Captain Kangaroo were still on!

One show that is NOT allowed in this house is Spongebob! YUCK! Sorry to the bloggers that like Spongebob….but I just don’t like him or “GET IT” about that show I guess.

Gosh, To be a Kid Again!

Daily Thankful thought-I am Thankful for old Children Shows….just wish I could find more of them on.

Praying

Children….
My children take turns saying Grace/Praying before a meal.
Even though they are 10, 8 (well almost 9), 6, and even 3 they put a lot of thought into there prayers.
My 3 year old doesn’t pray yet, but he has been know to all of the sudden speak one of his sibling name or mommy and daddy while one of the other’s are praying. We have encouraged our older children to keep praying through it. We want David to share in Family prayer.

You can definitely see there age and what they will pray for….Here is a short list….(Which I think is lovely and sweet, and I have full confidence that they are speaking to God.

Daniel my ten year old-He always blesses the food to the nourishment of our bodies. He Thanks God for All of his brothers and sister and Mom and Dad, and then he will usually pray for ALL people with Cancer. He started praying for ALL people with Cancer about a month ago and hasn’t let up….and we hope and pray that he doesn’t.

Aimee my 8 year old. Who was Saved this past May! YAYAYAYAYAY! Prays for her Daddy’s College and work, My Ebay Business. She Thanks God for the Day that he gave her. She Thanks God for her Family and For her friends, and she also blesses the food to the nourishment of our bodies, She also prays for my ebay business…I assume when she goes to bed, that her night prayers are more in depth. I truly believe that she talks to God a lot. And finds extreme comfort in him. Which is totally awesome to me.

Zachary is my 6 year old. He sometimes still needs help in praying but not much. He also blesses our food. But his prayers are more geared toward him. He prays to stay on the driveway. (he is always going off our drive and we live on a hill that people blaze down on)
Prays that he will obey. And also prays for Daniel, Aimee, David, myself and his daddy.

David my 3 year old-He is just SWEET! He will fold his hands in prayer bow his head and shut his eyes and sometimes he will not say a word other times he says mommy, daddy, Aimee, Daniel, like he is praying for them. Like I mentioned above no one interrupts him.

Children do listen to what happens around them….for Daniel to pick up some how with people with Cancer just amazes me. And I am so grateful to him for praying for them.

One of these days before they are too old, I want to set a video camera up and record them while we are praying. They are look so sweet.

*Daily Thankful thought-I am thankful for another beautiful Day!

My boys are not ready for school to start. My daughter is raring to go.
Hopefully, if I am able to get all this done…I might be able to concentrate more on my work while the kids are in school.
I am so excited for them to start back to school. But it is bittersweet. Another year of school, another year of growing up….to soon they will be out of the house.
I am so dreading that.
Now, by the time Christmas break gets here I will be so happy to have some time off from making lunches, checking homework, and making sure everything that needs to be in there backpack is there.
This is my sons Daniel last year as a elementary student. Bittersweet again.
Aimee follows the next year.
Humph! My babies are growing up. They are growing up way to fast!
*Daily Thankful Thought-I am thankful for rain-which we received some yesterday but are in need of even more!

Commen Courtesy goes a LONG way….

What happen to the words: Excuse Me, Thank You, Please, and I’m Sorry.
I am raising my kids to say these plus, Mr ??? and Mrs???? whoever they are talking to.
I think it is good manners and just polite.
Rudeness has become what we are all are used to. And it shouldn’t be that way.
Today, I witness:
1. My son picking up a big Sam’s Club soda outside that someone had tossed out. He immediately put it in the trash can right outside Sam’s. He said “Just doing my part to keep the Earth Beautiful.” He is 10 years old. I thought, I have an amazing kid!

Now, there is a trash can RIGHT outside Sam’s. How long would it have taken to toss it into the can instead of in the parking lot.

2. We went to Wal-mart. And when checking out a little Grandma probably in her late 70′s to mid 80′s was checking out. My daughter went right to the cart and said “Let me help you.” The little old lady was so nice and told me how nice it was that she was so kind and well mannered to help out. Again, I thought I have an Amazing kid!

Going through walmart, people would walk right in front of you barely squeezing by and not say excuse me or pardon me. And when it was us that went in front of them we always said I always said “Excuse us” or “I’m Sorry” if we had accidentally got in there way.

Giving Dirty looks as you politely say “Excuse Me”!

Then you have people that will put there carts in a parking spot and not walk the cart over to the cart stand that is not that far away. I think sometimes people are so lazy, but what they seem to be missing is that it is inconsiderate to live a cart in a parking spot for someone else to have to move. Not only that it can damage other people cars if it rolled the wrong way.

With all the dirty looks we got…we always said the polite thing. And I will continue to teach my kids to be good stewards. The little things like picking up trash and help a older person out mean a lot as well.

My new saying to my kids is “Manners Matter!” I just want them to grow up and be respectful adults.

Whew, you don’t know how good that felt to get out!

*Daily Thankful Thought-I am thankful that I have raised my kids to be polite.

Happy Friday The 13th!!!!

I have talked so much about my amazing 4 kids. I haven’t shown there pictures.
What have I been thinking?????
So Here are the four Terrific, Amazing and wonderful kids of mine! (doesn’t every mother think that there kids are spectacular)

Dat is a 10 yr old going into his final year of elementary school. He is so excited that he will be the “big Boy” on school grounds. This year he has his 5Th grade graduation! I can’t wait to see that.I will be a bucket of tears! Daniel enjoys, playing with his friends,Xbox games, basketball, and sometimes annoying his little brother’s and sister. His favorite color is RED! I think 80% of his clothes are red!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketMeMe is 8 years old. Will be 9 on August 25! She shares a birthday with her grandfather and her Aunts birthday is the next day! She loves school and is going into the 4th grade. She loves to learn and decided at the age of 5 years old that she was going to be a doctor, and has not changed her mind once since! She loves to go to church, creating Art, playing with friends and listening to Christian Music. Hannah Montana is her Favorite Show. She can’t wait for school to start! She is 18 months and 2 days younger than her brother.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketZet is my 6 year old. He fears NOTHING! He loves to play on The xbox, Army men, Rescue heroes, and TMNT (Teenaged Mutan Ninja Turtles). He will be 7 on Dec. 8th. This boy weighed 10 pounds when he was born. He wants to be a Army man just like daddy! He wants to jump out of Airplanes, just like daddy did. Like I said, this kid fears nothing. Which sometimes makes his mother very nervous! Notice his hair cut! Very Armyish!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketAnd last but not least is our baby Dat. He was born on June 1st, 2004 in Stuttgart Germany. We call him our little German Boy. He was born on his big cousins birthday. He is my ONLY blond headed child. He looks amazingly like my mother in law. (which is good, my mother in law is beautiful!) His favorite thing to say now is “Miss U” even if you were just in a different room. Or “Awesome”. This picture of dat was taken at Christmas time last year.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI am very proud of each of my children. They are all so very special. They all have a uniqueness to them that can’t ever be duplicated. I love seeing them create and learn new things. And “seeing” that light click on there face when they have accomplished something.
I feel so very blessed.
I just wanted to show my kids so you all will know who I am talking about.
*Daily Thankful thought #12-I am thankful that I am able to work at home and be with my children!

School Supplies….

YES!!!!!
It is getting to that time of year again where I need to buy my kids there school supplies. I have three kids going to school and things add up FAST. So far I believe I have spent $30.00 on school supplies and I am not half way through yet.
And it seems like very year the list grows even more! Dat is going into the 5Th grade and it is his LAST year of elementary school. They have 5Th grade graduation at this school. Should be neat to see. I will probably be all tears. Meme is going into the 4Th grade. She is so excited it isn’t even funny. She loves school. Zet is going into the first grade. He had a problem last year with getting in trouble some. So I hope this year he is better.
I did buy Zet two pair of shorts today. One pair was Khaki cargo shorts on sale for 5.00. So I snatched those up for school. And then another pair I spent 9.50 and those were jean shorts. I thought only 14.50 plus tax for two pairs of shorts was great! I also bought him a chocolate brown shirt for 3.00 to wear with his Khaki shorts.
I am going to wait to buy my kids jeans. They outgrow them SO fast and it stays pretty warm here through Halloween.
My husband starts his summer college 2 class on Monday. For all our sakes I hope it is easy on him.
It is so dreadfully hot out today. Makes me not want to do anything. But alas, I need to.
So until tomorrow…I will leave you with my daily Thankful thought.

*Daily Thankful Thought #7-I am thankful nice cashiers. Makes shopping such a nice, relaxing experience.

I wonder how long until I loose what sanity I have left?

I can SURE tell that it is a Monday!
First Zet was bugging Dat. Annoying him to NO end with his V-tech computer that he has. DJ has bugged me about downloading some things onto his dads computer so he can play a game while his dad is at school. And he became extremely aggravated at me for asking him to take some mail out to our mail box and bring the garbage can to the house. When he finally does it, Zet goes behind him and locks him out of the house and makes Daniel ring the doorbell about 5 times. I find it rather funny and cute little brother behavior, but DJ doesn’t quite find it that funny.
I am sure Meme will be annoyed at her brother’s today. It is beginning to become a common recurrence with her annoyance at her brothers. Sometimes, she really HATES being the only girl. I have tried to explain to her that God chose her to have a big brother and two baby brother’s. And that she is a very special little girl because of that. I grew up with only one sister. Who I might add is 8 years younger than I am. I always wanted a brother. I really lucked out, now I am blessed with three boys of which I sometimes can’t comprehend why they do some of the things they do. I have almost stopped trying to figure it out and just leave it as “It’s Has GOT to be a boy thing”.
I am praying that as my kids get older that they will lean on each other and be there for each other. And I believe it will happen, it will just take time for them to mature a little.
I have loads of laundry and a kitchen to clean today. Although, I can’t seem to get motivated enough to start.

My daily Thankful thought #2- I am so Thankful for my daughter who gives me a breath of fresh air in amongst all these boys!
