Blast from the past……

July 13, 2009 · 1 Comment

I went digging for some pictures and found these….

Now either my parents meant to do this….or it just happened.  My mom and dad are wearing the same shirts, sitting in the SAME place, I am only older.  In the picture on the left,I couldn’t be more than a month old.  On the right about 3 or 4 months old.  I am sure my mom will know for sure.

Love the hair mom….You really are a true beauty.  And my dad, gosh he is handsome.  He looks like my cousin Derek in these pictures.

scan0006-1This next picture is of me, my cousin Jennifer and our grandpa.  This was taken in ‘75.  So we couldn’t be more than a year /18 months old.

scan0004-1This picture isn’t as old as the previous pictures.  But I still love it.  My sister holder her first nephew, Daniel.  Daniel was 3 weeks old.

scan0003-1

I have a few more but I will save those for another day.  I hope you all have a wonderful start to your week.

Take Care!

Facebook Quizzes

July 12, 2009 · 1 Comment

I took a few facebook quizzes this morning.  And they actually where SPOT on for the most part!

The Wife Quiz-

What it said about me:

The Result, You are a Super Wife
If there was an Olympic event for wives, you’d be enjoying your gold medal while all the other competitors were gathering at the starting line. You go above and beyond, and let’s face it, your husband is darn lucky to have you.

The Marriage Test
What it said about me…

The Result: Teen Bride (I actually married when I was 20)
You will marry in your late teens – early twenties. You are a real homemaker, down to earth, practical, with a glowing, relaxed beauty that is enhanced by your pure / innocent inner being. You were snapped up young as you are a such rare gem.

The Music Sensitivity Test

What it said about me-

Your life is the reflection of your music.

You live your life exactly the way your favorite artist, or favorite type of music. You dress the same, act the same, hang out with people who look and act the same, usually, you have one particular artist that you have embraced as you favorite artist. You listen to this music everyday, all day long. You feel emotionally connected, to, not only the artist, but also to the type of music that particular type of music.

I usually don’t like these to take facebook quizzes but these where RIGHT on!

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday

Take care!

School Talk

July 11, 2009 · 2 Comments

I found out today Zachary’s Teachers, the times of classes because it has changed.

Full day
8:45 AM to 3:45 PM
Half Day
8:45 AM to 12:15 PM

WOW! He isn’t going to be getting home until after 4 PM. My oldest will be home at 2:45 PM!

Zachary will be having a teacher this next year that Daniel had in the 4th grade. Her name is Mrs. Payne. She is a preachers wife. She is SO SO SO great with kids.

We were thrilled when we found out who his teacher is.
Now the supply list….
Be sure to click on the list to see the better view

list-1Zachary’s teacher wants each student to pick 5 things from the wish list to bring.  (We will pick the ones that I have coupons for)

And we still need to add a backpack to that list…Thank goodness we have Aimee’s supplies just about purchased and some of Daniels.

Zachary is getting excited now that he knows who his teacher is.

I hope you all have a fab day.

Take Care

More savings……

July 10, 2009 · 1 Comment

Yes, I indeed have found and purchased some more items, that I actually used coupons for.  And in Toys R ‘Us no less.

pictureka-1Before coupons My total was $37.38 with Tax.  After coupons $12.38!

I purchased 5 pictureka games and a pink locker organizer for Aimee’s locker.

We are keeping one card game for ourselves and using the others for kids birthday gifts and such.  You know when you get a birthday invite and the birthday is only a few days away and you don’t really have anything to give or any money to go out and purchase something.  This is what they will get.

Or we might donate them to our church or give them as a gift to my kids teacher’s for Christmas.

Onto another deal, (Beware of purchasing this on eBay or Amazon!  I found only one on Amazon and they wanted $39.99 for it.  We got this one at Wal-Mart for $12.00!  SAME ONE!

pinkcal-1This one is Aimee’s.  And for just $12.00.  It pays to shop around.  Granted our Walmart only had 3 of them.  So I am sure once they are noticed they will go FAST!

She is one HAPPY girl!  We last just 2 things to have all her school supplies bought.  Daniel lacks a lot and so does Zachary and we still have to get them all new backpacks!

Sending kids to school is EXPENSIVE!

Since March 16th, I have saved $1,278.48!!!!  I still have some receipts to add to that as well.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Take care!

I Hope to Have….

July 9, 2009 · 1 Comment

A list of things I hope to have before my kids get out of school next year.

1. A new vacuum cleaner.

Dyson_Vacuum_Cleaner2. A Freezer

freezer3. A New dishwasher

dishwasher4. Wood Blinds for all my windows. I have wood blinds in the kitchen and want them for the rest of the house.

wood-blinds5.Pantry organization.  I want to start stock piling some products that I purchase.  I have a pantry under my stairs that needs to get a redo! LOL  We use it as storage now.  Hopefully, it will be a pantry by this time next year. And it is meant to be a pantry as well.  At least that is what it says on our house blueprints.

6. A Vacation—(this we might not get until the year after next) It has been 4 years since we have been on vacation.  And then we didn’t really do anything except go and visit my father in law and drove home.  If you want to get ‘really’ technical, it has been 7 years since we had a true vacation.

vacation_rentalsSince we are on a TIGHT budget, I decided to place this on my blog and on July 9, 2010 I will do a update to what, if any of these things we have accomplished.

You say To-MAH-TOE, I say to-MAY-TOE

July 8, 2009 · 1 Comment

I say, to-may-toe!

How do you pronounce  “Coupon”?  I pronounce it Q’PON

Pecan-I pronounce it PUH-CON.

Facade-I pronounce this FAH-SAUDE

Vase- I pronounce it like face expect with a V sound in front of ‘Ace’

Caramel-I pronounce this Car-mul.

And lastly, when you go to take something out of the freezer to Thaw.  Do you say I have to “De-thaw” my meat or do you say I have to THAW my meat….

Thaw definition-

: to cause to thawintransitive verb1 a: to go from a frozen to a liquid state : melt b: to become free of the effect (as stiffness, numbness, or hardness) of cold as a result of exposure to warmth
2: to be warm enough to melt ice and snow —used with it in reference to the weather
3: to abandon aloofness, reserve, or hostility :
4: to become mobile, active, or susceptible to change

dethaw definition (dethaw- is not a word according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary)

verbbecome or cause to become soft or liquid; “The sun melted the ice”; “the ice thawed”; “the ice cream melted”; “The heat melted the wax”; “The giant iceberg dissolved over the years during the global warming phase”; “dethaw the meat”

Taken from dictionary.com

If I say dethaw.  I think I am being a repetitive?  Eric (my husband) brought this to my attention yesterday.  It bugs me now.  From now on.  I will say Thaw or defrost.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Take care!

One Month…..

July 7, 2009 · 2 Comments

My kids have Exactly one month then it is…….

btsI think for once my oldest is actually looking forward to getting back to school.  Now, that could be just to see his friends.  Which is probably more the case.

Aimee has been super excited ever since her 5th grade graduation.

Zachary, well, he really doesn’t want to go.  I am sure he will get better as the weeks go by.

It just amazes me that I have 2 middle school kids.  I feel so old!

We should be receiving the new school calendar soon.  They mail that out about the middle of every July.  It has the dates and such on it for the school year.

This year there is a time change on when school starts for the elementary.  I don’t know if it will change for the middles school students or not.  I hope to find the time out soon so I can get my kids morning routines down for the year.

One more thing before I close out.

I don’t know why I feel like I have to say this again for the umpteenth time. I am a mom blogger.  I blog about my life as a parent of 4.  My blog is full of Randomness.

I do not Claim to be a english teach.  Yes, you will probably find some spelling and grammar mistakes.  I do spell check before posting.  However, being a busy mom of 4 sometimes Grammar and spelling do not get checked.

This blog is not perfect, nor do I claim it to be.  I am simply put….a Mom that enjoy blogging to share with her family that happen to live in different states.  And to share with my friends, and online blogging friends that I have met along the way.

My kids, husband, family, house, friends, all come before my blog.  They are my priority.  My blog will always take a backseat to that. So No, my spelling and grammar may or may not be perfect.

If you can’t deal with a few grammatical errors or spelling errors than you shouldn’t be reading my blog.

I love the blog friends I have made, and I will continue to seek out new blogs to read.  All negative comments about my grammar or spelling will not be published.

Negativity is NOT allowed in my house, so it sure will not be allowed on my blog.

With that said,

I hope you all have a excellent, wonderful Day.

Take Care!

Conversations with kids

July 3, 2009 · 2 Comments

This is going to be a new part to my blog.  Conversations with my Kids.  As many of you know I have what some people would deem a large family.

Ages are 12, 10 (almost 11),8 and5 years old. So, We have some pretty good conversations in our house.

You all will get to see a whole Range of Conversations.  From the fun and silly to the more serious conversations of middle schoolers.

So, with that.  Today, I give you a conversation with My 5 year old.

ddd-1David is a funny, sweet, caring little boy.  He seems to know just what to say and when to say it.  I typically get this conversation when he sees that I am not having a good day, upset, or frustrated.  Or if he just wants something.  :)

And the good thing—————————HE MEANS IT!

David: ” Momma, your Beautiful!”

Me: “Thank you, David.  Your Very handsome.”

David: “Thanks!”

Me: “Your so Welcome!”

David: “Momma?”

Me: “Yes, David?”

David: “I LOVE YOU!” Said, with great expression and feeling.

Me:  “Aww, David, I love you so very very much!”

David: “No, Momma-I love you around the world and back!”

Me: “David, I don’t think you can love me anymore than I love you!”

David:”Oh, YES, I CAN!”

This goes back and forth for a couple of times!

David: “Momma?”

Me: “Yes, sweetheart?”

David: “You are the Best Momma Ever!”

Me: “David you are the BEST five year old I have!”

David: “Momma, I am your ONLY five year old!

Me: “But your still the best to me!”

I feel so blessed to have the kids I have.  They might drive me to the brink of insanity before they are all out of the house.  -I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The following are of pictures of David playing on his ‘3-wheeler’.

ddd1-1“Zoomin’ by”

ddd2-1“No Hands Mom!”

ddd3-1“Crusin’ down the stairs”

Have a wonderful day!

Take Care!
