Hey Guys!
Thanksgiving is only one week away. Almost time to get the turkey out for thawing (this bird is over 20 pounds). I don’t know if I should take it out of the freezer on Saturday or Sunday…..I might take it out on Saturday evening. I thaw mine in the refrigerator.
Monday I will take out my ham for thawing.
We are going this weekend to get the rest of the groceries needed for Thanksgiving baking and cooking. Just hope I don’t forget anything. We don’t have that much left to get…spices, butter and such…..just don’t want to leave anything out.
Aimee and David are constantly telling me how they are going to help me out in the kitchen this year. I so hope they do. I also hope my other two boys jump in on helping. It might get messy but it is so worth it to spend time cooking with my kids.
So since on Thanksgiving Day, I will not be able to get on and post a blog post. I thought, since it is a week away. I would post what I am Thankful for this season of Thanksgiving…
1. God- Wouldn’t be where I am now if I didn’t have my faith…and God to guide me.
2. My husband-He is at the core of my being. He is so caring and supportive. And a AWESOME father. And to top it off. He is a Christian Man!
3. My kids- My kids are my world. I am not a very outgoing/outspoken person. But if It has to deal with my kids—-I AM! My boys have taught me so much. I never dreamed I would be the mother of three fabulous boys. Boys like to get dirty, are rambunctious, sometimes loud, mommy’s sometimes can’t figure them out, they like the sound of noises (if you catch my drift), they think just about any ‘human’ noise is funny and SHOULD be laughed at. However, I have come to realise that my boys are sweet, caring, love there sister, smart, funny, witty and just down right FUN to be around. My boys are awesome. My daughter, she is the light of my life. She has the sweetest heart. She is very tender hearted. She loves, to do crafts, art, sing, dance, and LEARN. She is big on school. She can play with the boys but still be very elegant about it. She has a set of lungs on her that any cheerleader or coach would want. When God was choosing my kids….He sure did chose them right on the money for us! I feel very blessed.
4. My Parents (mom and dad)-I love my mom so much. She wants so much for me and my sister and her grandchildren. So much so you can see it in her eyes. She loves us, even when she doesn’t understand why we (her daughters) do some of the stuff we do. Or pull some of the stuff we did growing up. She has always been there for us. Even when she couldn’t be there in person. I knew she was always pulling for me and always on my side. Did I mention how much she loves all 5 of her grand-babies??? Well, she does. They are the first things she asks about when I speak to her. Not, How are you….it is How is my grand-babies? Sweet isn’t it. My dad, I am thankful to him. He provided food, shelter and clothing for me. He worked shift work to supply us with not only the things we needed but with the things we wanted as well. I will always be thankful to him for that. I never wanted for anything.
5. My step-dad-I am thankful for my step-dad. I don’t call him step-dad. I either call him Joe, Daddy Joe, or just dad. I am thankful for him because he takes care of my mom. She however, is one of the most important women in my life. I really don’t have to worry about her because I know Joe is there for her. Which brightens my day. He love my kids and considers them his grandchildren 100%. Which they are. My kids call him Paw-Paw Joe. Zachary my soon to be 8 year old….always wants to call either his Paw-paw (Eric’s dad) or Paw-Paw Joe if he gets into trouble. Thinking his grandparents can help him so far away. To sweet.
6. My sister (and her family)-I am so thankful that I have a sister. I was the only child for so long. When God gave my sister to my parents. I think not only was he thinking She is the perfect baby for them. I think in addition to that he was thinking…she is the perfect sister for her. And she certainly is. My brother in law, I am so thankful for him (even though he is from my rival high school) for being such a good husband to my sister and excellent father to my niece. My niece I am so thankful to have that little one as my niece. I see her doing great things in her life. She is just too cute for words.
7. My grandparents-Both sets of my grandparents are near and dear to me. Both sets of grandparents instilled something different in my life. However, they both instilled the love for God, and family. They both showed me what a true loving marriage is suppose to look like. My grandma C taught me how to cook, be kind and giving. My grandma K taught me how to be sweet and nice to people even if they were not polite in return. My grandfather, both of them are just the best grandfathers on this earth. At least to me they are.
8. Eric’s mom and dad-I am thankful to them for raising such an amazing man. For giving him the tools to be a great husband and father. For encouraging Eric to go back to college and get a degree. I just wish they could see him go at it in person. What a fighter he is. How strong he is. How loving, caring he is. How fun he is to be around. And how he loves and adores his kids.
9. My neighbors-I have some wonderfully awesome neighbors.
10. My home-I am so thankful that we have a roof over our head.
11. food-
12. Caring Doctors
13. Hobby Lobby-Eric’s job.
14. The Army-The Army has made Eric a great person. I am so proud of him
15. Our military service men and women-May God be with them and there families during this Thanksgiving Season. And Thank you all so much for your service to our country.
16. My blog friends-I so enjoy reading all my blog friends blogs. I enjoy reading new blogs as well.
17. My health and the health of my family-
18. Eric’s car-Even though it is a clunker. It still gets the job done and gets us around.
