Found a cousin….

Hey Guys!

  You might think my Title is a little strange.  Growing older has made me appreciate my family more and more.  If you read my Thursday Thirteen…I am very sentimental.  Anyhow, something told me to log onto MySpace and see if I could search out any family members. 

  I found a few cousins.  Ones that I have been in touch with on and off through the years.  However, I became curious if my cousin whom I haven’t seen in over 20 years now was on MySpace.  And SHE WAS!!!!!I was shocked beyond belief.

Actually it has been over 23 years since I have even seen her or spoken with her.  Her parents went through a VERY bitter divorce.  And she lost contact with us…we knew where she was growing up because she only moved about an hour away.  Her mother remarried and she grew up with a ‘new’ dad.  One that was good to her I am assuming.

The sad thing about this situation is that she is only two weeks older than I was.  We went to school together in the 4th and part of the 5th…then she moved.  I didn’t really ‘miss’ her until family get togethers and such.  And for some reason the last few weeks…I have really been wondering about her.

I wish I could contact her through MySpace but I fear she wouldn’t respond.  Here is another kicker.  Her daughter is exactly ONE Year older than Zachary.  Her daughter and my son Zachary share a birthday—-NOT a birth year.

She still lives in the state I grew up in (Oklahoma) and not to far from our grandmother. About a hour drive.  My grandmother would give anything to see her and see her great-granddaughter.

You know I don’t really care what happened between my Uncle and her mom….to me that is ALL water under the bridge.  I just wish I had my cousin back.

Her 35th birthday is coming up in a matter of a couple short weeks.  Mine follows hers a couple weeks later.

Things could have been so different….I guess one day I might get up the nerve to email her through MySpace…But I don’t know.

I hope you all have had a delightful weekend.  My weekend has been full of headband making, cleaning and the like.
