41 Years Ago Today

October 30, 2007 · 4 Comments

My husband, Eric was born!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART!!!!!

He was born in Dallas Texas. He is so Texan that he was born during a Dallas Cowboy Game! His Doctor barely made it to the delivery because he was AT THE GAME!!!! He is such a texan. He even has a Texan rough look about him. Like my father in law does.

Here is a picture of us taken in Jan. of 1994! We were married on Valentines Day of 1994. I have changed a lot. He was 27 years old here….he doesn’t look it does he???? He doesn’t own those glasses anymore…LOL :)

I don’t know if I have ever mentioned that he is Airborne Qualified and he jumped out of airplanes for part of his living with the Army. I wouldn’t do it….but he sure loved it….

Here he is in Jordan, I believe getting ready to board a plane to jump. (He will correct me if I am wrong about where it was taken I am sure.)

I am so proud of you Eric. You brighten every day of my life. I know I fall miserably at mentioning it but you do. You are a terrific provider, totally Awesome Father, and a Super Duper Husband….I couldn’t have dreamed of anyone that is more perfect for me than you!

Happy 41st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

*Insert the Happy Birthday Song*

Eric does have his own blog and if you would like to go and wish him a Happy Birthday (he didn’t blog today) and leave him a birthday wish on any of his posts…please do so! Secondhand Thoughts is his blog!

I hope you all have had a wonderful Tuesday!

Unanswered Questions…….Answered!

October 29, 2007 · 3 Comments

I need to answer several unanswered questions that were sent to me via email.
And some general ‘talking’.

1. Q. Where are you from?
A. Oklahoma. I grew up in a super tinny tiny town called Eakly.

2. Q. Do you have a accent?
A. I am 100% Okie. However, I believe I have lived in Tn long enough that some people have told me I have a very southern accent.

3. Q. Do you really have 4 kids? (yes, I really got this question via email)
A. I sure do. I am blessed to have 3 boys ages 10, almost 7 and 3. And one daughter who is 9. My 7 year old was 10 pounds at birth!

4. Q. How many states have you lived in?
A. 4. Florida, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee. I have also lived in Europe, and then I lived in Germany.

5. Q. What is your sign? (LOL)
A. I don’t believe in signs, but I was born in May.

6. Q. What is your political affiliation and would you post your thoughts about _______? (fill in the blank)
A. I don’t generally talk about my political affiliation. I feel that if I am Republican, Democrat, or Independent doesn’t bear any announcement on my blog. If you read enough of my blog you might get an idea of where fall on certain issues. I do not really like to discuss politics because I am not effective speaker.

7. Q. What does your name mean?
A. I have No idea of what it means. I do know that there are about 6 or 7 other Suprinas.
What I can tell you is that my Maternal Grandfather named me. My parents were expecting a boy. And received a little girl instead. They had no name picked out for a girl. My mom called my grandfather and told him that it was a girl and she had no name. He said name her Suprina ( pronounced SUE~PRE~NUH). He named me after a woman he had meet in Germany while he was serving in the Army. Her name was Suprina. And it just seemed to fit me. So I do know that the name has a German Origin. I used to not like it that much…but now I wouldn’t change it for the world. Because 1. My grandfather gave me my name. And 2. I really do love it now.

8. Q. Do you really breastfeed/nurse all your kids?
A. I most certainly did and I wouldn’t change it for anything. In Total I nursed for about 93 straight months combined! I do not judge those that bottle feed. I feel to each there own.

9. Q. What is your favorite Show on Television right now?
A. My favorite show on Television right now has to be Dancing With The Stars….I just can’t miss it! And hey it comes on TODAY and Tomorrow!

10. Q. Do you have any pet peeves?
A. Who doesn’t????? I have a lot!!!! But my big one right now is parent, grandparents that do not buckle there childre/grandchildren down in a car seat! That drives me Crazy….

And for Amy. She asked me to talk about my eBay Store. It is basically a Costume, Fashion Jewelry store that I started up about 18 months ago. I really love it but it costs lots of money each month just to keep it up and running. So I am clearing everything out of it. I have 480 items up for bidding and or buying…however, I have about 100 items give or take a few….to list.

For nyone who wants to check it out…. Here is the name of my store Jewelry Gifts Etc.

I have decided that I am going to post a Ask Suprina Question and Answer post the first of Every month.
So if you have any questions please send them to kitchentablechat@gmail.com.

It doesn’t have to be questions about me. It can be any random question. Or a silly question I will take them all. It can be even to ask if I like the color red?

So Send your questions to Kitchentablechat@gmail.com. Subject line-Suprina Answer this….
Or leave a comment for me with your question.

The first round will go up on Dec. 1st.

I am really hoping this will work….because it will give me something to look forward too…plus, I like getting email—-That ISN’T Spam! :)

Been Internet "Window" Shopping…

For some Christmas Gifts….
And it has really got me in the Christmas Spirit.
And I have found some gifts for my kids that I would like to get them. I have them written down and if I see them on sale or NEW on eBay for a great bargain. Then I will buy them.
I still need to crack down on my list.
Things are tight but I still want my kids to get a few things for Christmas. And I am trying VERY hard to stay under budgets.
I am just about half way down with Aimee.
I haven’t started for Daniel or Zachary.
And David has a couple of things.
And I have a few stocking stuffer things. Aimee-I am done with the Stocking stuffers for her.
I have decided that for next Christmas I will start my Christmas shopping EARLY! I am talking like Dec. 31st! That way I will not be fighting the crowds and we can take our time with purchasing instead of waiting the last few months to get them….
Aimee mentioned this morning wanting her own Pink Hair dryer. So, I went searching online and found one. It is pink. It took me forever to find one that was not for Breast Cancer Awareness. Although, there is nothing wrong with that. But I did find her one….and it is under $15.00.
I forgot to mention. I am trying to purchase all the Christmas Gifts from my profits from eBay. I am in the process of closing down my ebay store. Still have about 500 items left to sell. So as I sell my items I will purchase the gifts. And that is what I am doing…and I am so glad that I haven’t touched the money that Eric makes or his retirement money for Christmas gift.
Anyway, if I have to purchase an item at a time I will.
Now, just to figure out what to get a 10 year old and a 7 year old boy for Christmas. Those with Boys around that age….Any ideas?????
Oh, I did find them all some flannel sheets….and the ones I found for each of them will fit there personalities perfect. Just have to wait to sell some things before I can purchase them. And they were not that expensive at all.
Anyway….if you know of any ideas for boys ages 10 and 7 please comment and let me know.
I think boys are SO extremely hard to buy for.
Have a wonderful Sunday Evening!

Tried a New Recipe…

October 28, 2007 · 1 Comment

And it was DEEEELIIISHH!!!!
It was for a Chicken Cordon Bleu Wrap Hot Sandwich.
Daniel, my 10 year old. He even liked it.
And it was SO very easy to make from start to finish it only took about 20 minutes.
When I make it next. It will be about 3 or 4 days before I make it again.
I will take a picture of the end product and post it on my recipe blog.
I tell ya, it was just awesome. And you know it is really good when I please all 4 of my kiddo’s with one meal. And then when my daughter asks if she can take it to school for lunch….
It would be SO good for pot lucks. And it would be good for any time of the year.
I got this recipe from a friend in Hawaii. So Thank you, Beth!

On a different note. It has gotten pretty chilly here during the early morning and up until around 2. Then it seems to be slightly ‘warm’ but then when 5 pm hits, it is chilly again.

Tomorrow, Eric will find out more about the van. It’s total condition. Color, miles….etc!
I can’t wait to get a ‘family’ van where we can all actually go places together.

I have almost got Aimee’s Christmas shopping done. I am well on my way with David. I need to start picking up the pace with Zachary and Daniel. I just really don’t ever know what to buy boys and each year my older boys get harder to buy for.

I do know that I am going to try and get all of them a bean bag chair for the play room so they each have something to sit in and relax or what movies. Aime will get a pink one, Daniel a red one and Zachary and David will both get blue but different shades. That is if I can find them now. I knew I should have at least picked up Aimee’s bean bag chair a month or so ago when I saw them at walmart. I just didn’t have anywhere to hide them.

I am also going to get each of them a set of Themed flannel sheets for the beds. One they need sheets and two they like getting theme sheets. Just hoping I can find the right themes for each of them before Christmas. Think I might try eBay for them.

I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday. I am hoping tomorrow, I can go and respond to some of my favorite bloggers….

Gosh, Time REALLY got away from me….

October 27, 2007 · 3 Comments

Kind of a busy day!
Went Grocery Shopping. Bought our Thanksgiving Turkey! He is a big Tom Turkey weighing in at 24 pounds. We will be having left overs for a least a few days after Thanksgiving.
I also purchased a couple of Christmas gifts online.
I purchased David a light up Magna Doodle. I also purchased Aimee a Elephant Webkinz. I just know she is going to love. They have a new Reindeer webkinz for Christmas. But I figured she would like playing with the Elephant online more throughout the year. Plus, he is just too cute.
Eric also picked up Aimee a small little art kit for Christmas. I am almost done with her Christmas with the exception of the Santa gift.
Christmas is only 60 days away! I can’t believe that!
We also bought some chocolate so I can make Aimee her suckers for her Halloween Party.
A little Mommy Brag…..All my older kids have been bringing home such good grades. I am so proud of them!
Tomorrow, is a day for a lot of cleaning. I just hope my kids cooperate with me. And let me clean and do not go behind me making a mess of things.
It has gotten really chilly/cold here. Which is a nice change that I am really looking forward too…
I just wanted to get a blog post off before it is actually Saturday.
I hope you all had a terrific Friday.
Have a wonderful night!

Teachers…..

October 26, 2007 · 2 Comments

I have been thinking a lot about teachers lately. Since my daughter has one this year that well, we don’t really know what to think of her and her teaching. And also since my husband will eventually be a high school History Teacher.
I have come to the realization that good teacher really don’t get there due justice when it come to recognition.
So with that, I want to ‘talk’ about a few teacher’s that really influenced me and made me feel like I could accomplish ANYTHING!
I had a teacher my Junior and Senior Year of high school that I would fight tooth and nail to get into her class. She knew how to teach me. And yet she had a AWESOME attitude toward her students and she was very funny….and could come up with some very good ziggers.
That teacher’s Name is Mrs. Epperly. I wonder if she still acts that way toward the kids she teaches now. I know she doesn’t teach at the school I went to anymore. I do know that she is teaching and she does live in the same house she lived in when she taught me.
My next teacher I had several times during my school life. I had her in Kindergarten and then she was my music teacher throughout my grade school, middle school and part of my high school years. Her name is Mrs. Johnson. She really had a gift at encouraging me to sing. I thought I was a lousy singer. And with her help, my mother’s help and my Aunt LuAnne’s help…I turned out not to be too bad of a singer. However, I do have a little sister that can sing like there is no tomorrow.
My Aunt LuAnne is also a Music Teacher and I believe she has won some teaching awards in Oklahoma.
My sister is also a teacher. She is a special Education Teacher. Right now, she is going for her masters in Speech Pathology. I am so proud of her. She is doing the balancing act of going to school and being a wife and mother to my soon to be one year old niece. *Although, I do believe she has awesome help of my mom and her mother in law.
And of course, as I mentioned earlier, my husband is going to college right now to become a history teacher. I am so proud of him. He served our country in the Army for nearly 22 years.
Retired at the age of 40. And is now going to college, and working. And he is keeping his grades so high that he is a member of an Honor Society.
WHOOHOOO, I am so proud of you Eric!
So do you have that one teacher that you wish you could just touch base with and see how they are doing???
I can’t believe that it is almost the weekend. This week has really just flown by!
I hope you all have had a wonderful Thursday!
And I hope you continue having a awesome evening.

Rain, Rain and More Rain….

October 24, 2007 · 1 Comment

Have you been getting much rain? We sure have. We had a steady stream of rain all day today.
And we are expecting it to be raining tomorrow and Thursday as well.
And it is suppose to get a tad bit chillier the next couple of days.
This weekend I am going to be making suckers for Aimee’s Halloween Festival party at school. She asked if I would make them for her and they are so easy to make. Just time consuming. I think I will make her class about 40 suckers that way I am sure to get every child and the teachers.
I have been doing my usual cleaning. Sometimes, I feel like that is all I do is cleaning and Laundry.
We did find out the Make and Model of the van that we might be buying and it is a Ford Windstar. We just don’t know year (Eric thinks the year to be a 97,98, or 99), mileage, engine condition, interior and exterior condition. All we know is the Owner’s brother (whom goes to our church and is car dealership manager) says it is in good condition and good working order. We will find out Sunday all the details and make our decision on it…With the price they are wanting for it doing a Kelley Blue Book search of it I think it stands the chance of being a ‘98. But we shall see…..One thing I hope is that it is not white or red. Or a ugly color of blue.
David will be finished with all his antibiotics tomorrow. I am praying that this takes care of all his boils and they do not come back. I guess we will see in about two weeks. By his condition we believe that David probably has/had MRSA. Although, it hasn’t been diagnosed as that yet, hoping it will not get to that point if his boils doesn’t come back. But he had just about all the symptoms of it. Quite scary actually.

For those who pray, please keep David in your thoughts and prayers that this last round of Meds have nocked out his infection. MRSA is a scary thing!

I hope you all had a wonderful day and evening.

BRRRRRRRR It’s Cold and Rainy!!!

October 22, 2007 · 1 Comment

The weather her certainly has taken a turn.
Saturday it was warm and sunny….
And yesterday it was a pretty nice day.
Then all of the sudden my kids are off to school, and it gets Dark, Cold and Rainy!
I do not mind the rain. I also don’t mind the cooler temps….
I just somehow feel that it is NOW time to put up the shorts and Capri’s and bring out the jeans.
I am SO glad that I told Zachary to wear jeans today because they are going to the Apple Orchard and Pumpkin farm. But he didn’t take a jacket. None, of my kids took a jacket to school today….Need to get them out and in viewing of there closets so they can grab them in the mornings.
This morning I had an idea for a gift for Aimee when she turns 18. Yes, I know. I am thinking WAY ahead, but I think I need to start this now…
I am thinking for her 18th birthday or that following Christmas to give her a collection of Our Families Favorite recipes. Also would be pictures of the finished product when they had it when they were smaller. So I think I am going to start looking for a binder for it. Maybe do it scrapbooking style.
I should know more details about the van we will be getting on Sunday…so hopefully, I will be able to post an update to that on Sunday.
Eric has decided that the kids can go trick or treating this year. Aimee is going as a doctor. Zachary an Army man, David a Cowboy (but he will probably just stay home and help me pass out candy, and Daniel is going as a XBOX. We are making his costume. And he is thrilled about it.
I also recieved another award, for which I will get that up and posted in a couple of days. Thanks to Jennifer for the award.
I need to get a three year old to bed for his nap. I hope you all are having a wonderful day.
